Burnsville community members are invited to learn lifesaving skills at a class this month.

The city launched an initiative with the Dakota County Emergency Medical Services in 2013 to train 6,000 people in CPR.

On the third Wednesday of each month, the Burnsville Fire Department is offering free one-hour CPR classes and resources to those wanting to learn these skills. The class is open to all ages.

The classes teach the “compression only” format, so they don’t fulfill certification requirements.

The next class takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Burnsville City Hall. To RSVP, call 952-895-4573.
