Plans are being made for an 11-story office building in the West End area near Interstate 394 and Highway 100.

According to St. Louis Park Planning and Zoning Supervisor Sean Walther, the Excelsior Group and Ryan Companies submitted an application to the city back in June. Because the plans include land in both St. Louis Park and Golden Valley, the companies also submitted a companion application to the city of Golden Valley as well.

The application is for an 11-story office building at 1601 Utica Ave. S. as part of the Central Park West planned development; the 335,710-square-foot building is Phase IV of Central Park West.

The plan includes about 5,000 square feet of shared outdoor amenity space, 3,500 square feet of ground-level retail space, a fitness facility, public locker rooms and an indoor bike room.

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Golden Valley regular city council meeting.

A public hearing in St. Louis Park took place July 20.
