A St. Louis Park restaurant will close later this month.

The Granite City Food and Brewery, located at 5500 Excelsior Blvd., plans to shut its doors after its parent company decided not to renew its lease with the building's owner.

The current lease expires at the end of the month with March 26 as the last day of operation.

The St. Louis Park location has been open for nearly 11 years and employed 61 people. The Bloomington-based company said all staff and management have been offered positions in the location of their choice at one of the company’s four other restaurants in the Twin Cities metro area and St. Cloud.

In all, the company operates 41 restaurants, Granite City Food and Brewery or Cadillac Ranch Great All-American Bar, in 16 states.

A representative for the company said 10 percent of the sales at St. Louis Park location will be donated to the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP).

Correction: A previous story had a picture of West End in St. Louis Park, but Granite City is not located in that area.
