A recognizable name in the outdoor sporting goods marketplace is back in business.

Gander Outdoors announced its first store has opened in Minnesota, with four others on pace to open by mid-June.

Camping World Holdings, which bought the St. Paul sporting goods and outdoors chain out of bankruptcy in April of 2017, announced Wednesday a plan to open dozens of stores across the country.

The first new Gander Outdoors store opened in Lakeville in December.

Company CEO and celebrity businessman Marcus Lemonis said additional Minnesota locations will be Forest Lake, Bemidji, Baxter and Hermantown. The parent company operates Camping World locations in Rogers and Monticello.

During a Facebook Live Wednesday, Lemonis promised a new style of stores and better product offerings.

"Inside these stores is something a little different," he said. "Rather than just opening up a big box we decided to change it up a little bit. What you'll see is very distinct departments with very distinct specialties and brands."
