The trustee appointed to oversee Denny Hecker’s affairs in his personal Chapter 7 bankruptcy is asking a federal judge to approve the sale of one of his dealerships.

The court ordered official has asked for Hecker’s Inver Grove Heights lot to be sold for $1 million. The dealership’s sale was begun before Hecker declared for bankruptcy, forcing the sale on hold.

Only a judge can sign off on its sale for the process for buyers to begin.

In his bankruptcy filing, Hecker says he has between $50 and $100 million in assets, but $500 million to $1 billion in debts—meaning his expensive homes, his private jet, and his very way of life may soon be gone.

Last month, GE Fleet Corporation filed a lawsuit stating the company had leased more than 600 vehicles to Rosedale Leasing and Rosedale Dodge—part of Hecker’s Automotive Group—but claim they never received any money from monthly rental charges. The lawsuit is seeking $7.2 million.

It's the latest legal action against Hecker, who recently was handed a $476.9 million judgment against him after Hennepin County Civil Court ruled in favor of Chrysler Financial Services.

He told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS in an exclusive on-air interview earlier this month that his only regret would be if he second-guessed himself.

"I don't think anybody could go from where I was and have nothing and then have it all and lose it. I’d rather have it and lose it than never have it," he said.

Hecker, 56, has been hit by more than 50 lawsuits from lenders and employees and still faces a DWI charge from last December. He admitted he was on prescription drugs and text messaging while driving.

He hopes to keep one of his dealerships as the last, remaining piece of an empire.
