DOC: Minn. boy resisting chemo will likely die
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Brown County judge is set to hear the results of his order that a 13-year-old boy get a chest X-ray to look at a cancerous tumor.
Daniel Hauser and his family were also ordered to pick an oncologist to to treat Daniel's Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Judge John Rodenberg will find out during a hearing Tuesday if the Hausers have obeyed.
But Daniel has vowed to resist chemotherapy by punching or kicking anyone who tries to force it on him. That could present doctors with a tough task if they can't change his mind.
Daniel and his parents stopped chemotherapy after one treatment and opted for "alternative medicines," prompting Brown County authorities to intervene. The cancer is regarded as highly curable with chemotherapy and radiation, but likely fatal without it.
