Join Jason Davis "On the Road" as he visits Minnesota's colorful cafes that are fun and affordable!  A hotdog or an egg on top of a burger?  We'll take you to a joint where there's 40 kinds to choose from!  We'll visit the only restaurant in Minnesota that gives you a taste of New Orleans...plus, we'll step back in time at the Doo Wop, when rock n' roll was king!

Click on the links below to watch individual segments:

Big Honza's Place
You've heard of Paul Bunyan...but have you heard of his legendary friend, Big Honza?  This giant Paul looks up to, is the fun creation of the owner of an unusual cafe called Big Honza's Place in Montgomery, Minnesota.  We'll show you some of their authentic Czech specialities and explore the attached Big Honza's Museum of Unnatural History, where Big "H" keeps his toys!

Amboy Cottage Cafe
Good, homemade food with love!  That's what you'll find at this quaint cottage-style gas station turned cafe on Main Street in Amboy, Minnesota.  Find out how owner Lisa Lindberg made this amazing transformation and created a warm and wonderful gathering spot for townspeople at the Amboy Cottage Cafe

Doo Wop Coffee Shop
Step back in time to the fifties and the sixties when rock n' roll was king at the Doo Wop Coffee Shop.  This eatery in Starbuck, Minnesota features an extensive collection of posters, record album covers, and assorted memorabilia by owner Dave Nichtern.

You'll think you've traveled hundreds of miles south when you walk into John O's in Brooten, Minnesota.  See how they've done up this small town theatre in the style of New Orleans!

King's Place
In this cafe, burger is king!  Wait 'til you see what they put on top of their 40 kinds of burgers--from peanut butter to a hotdog, King's Place in Miesville, Minnesota near Hastings is crazy about the all-beef patty!  Plus, meet the family that put this tiny town on the map!

We hope you enjoy watching this classic story out of "On the Road's" archives!  It features a woman from Carlton, Minnesota who liked to give her cafe an air of elegance!
