Josie Smith - Traffic Reporter

"I enjoy my job as a traffic reporter because each day is full of new and interesting challenges. After working in radio for many years, I'm thrilled to have the unique opportunity to join the team at KSTP-TV!"

Previous Experience
Josie joined 5 Eyewitness News in May 2014. She started reporting traffic for WCCO radio in 2003. Over the years, she has provided news and traffic to a number of Twin Cities' radio stations. She has also DJ'd at several radio stations around the metro.

While she spent her childhood years in Cardwell, Montana, her family later moved to Little Falls, Minnesota, where she attended high school. Josie graduated from Brown College in the Twin Cities after completing their radio/television broadcasting program. She is working towards her Bachelors in Technical Communication and Professional Writing at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. She has just 2 classes left!

Personal Interests
When Josie's not talking traffic she enjoys baking, gardening, and watching the "Bachelor" shows. She and her husband live in the East Metro.
