We are learning new details of a home invasion in Elk River on Thursday.

Police say they believe the house was targeted and have identified the two suspects who were taken into custody.

According to the Elk River Police Department, 31-year-old Ryan Woehler, of Brooklyn Center, and 40-year-old Aaron Martin, of Golden Valley, are expected to be arraigned in Sherburne County District Court on Friday.

Martin, was arrested and charged in Anoka County for stealing from a wedding last fall in Ham Lake.

Officers responded to a report of a home invasion on the 18500 block of Quincy Court around 9:05 a.m. Thursday, police say.

Police say the two men forced their way into the home and assaulted a husband and wife.

According to police, the wife was tied up, and the suspects forced the husband to leave the home with them. The suspects then left in a red Cadillac.

Officers found the husband, who was injured, outside of the home. An ambulance took him to a hospital.

Rogers police officers noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's Cadillac headed east on Interstate 94 from Highway 101.

Police say the vehicle made a U-turn and led police on a chase heading in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of I-94.

The chase ended on County Road 81 when the suspect crashed at Brooklyn Lane in Rogers, at which point Woehler and Martin were taken into custody.

This does not appear to be a random home invasion and there is no danger to the surrounding community, police say. However, it is unclear if the suspects and the victims knew each other.

The Elk River Police Department and Sherburne County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
