MN.IT met with computer forensic analyst Mark Lanterman regarding the vulnerability he found in the MNsure web site.

Lanterman says he explained the vulnerability to MN.IT and told them how to fix it.

The MNsure site is vulnerable to a Wi-Fi attack in which hackers can use a $99 device to intercept usernames and passwords.

Initially, MN.IT denied there was a problem.

Now MN.IT says it has been aware of the problem since our original report in November but is just now asking Lanterman for help after not being able to replicate the test performed.

Privately, MN.IT says it should have the MNsure site problem fixed Tuesday.

We'll be checking to see if the problem is fixed.

MN.IT has provided 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS with inconsistent statements over several weeks in regard to the vulnerability and potential fix.
