Besides serving up Thanksgiving meals for 1,000 people Thursday, the Salvation Army Harbor Light shelter in Minneapolis gave away hundreds of coats.
People were able to shop and try on coats to find the best fit.
The coats came courtesy of a coat drive held at Ridgedale Mall and organized by Salvation Army supporter and former Minnesota Twin Justin Morneau. Organizers said Morneau simply called up to see if he could help.
Timberwolves' Kevin Love is planning a coat drive with the Salvation Army for Christmas.
