LIST: Fall 2013 Halloween Events

From spooky to silly, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Halloween this season. Here's a list of some events taking place around the Twin Cities:

Trick-or Treat at the Governor's Residence: Governor Dayton will open the gates of the Governor’s Residence at 1006 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday for Halloween trick-or-treaters. Dayton will hand out candy from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Kids can take home candy or one of 400 donated mini pumpkins.

Hastings Harvest Fest: Take part in some indoor Halloween fun at the Harvest Fest carnival for kids and families from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Hastings, Minn. The event features games, face painting, inflatable jumpers and obstacle course, food and candy. The community event is at Harbor Church at 11125 W Point Douglas Road, Hastings, Minn. Admission is a bag of candy.

Schultz Family/York Avenue Halloween Light Show: Park your car outside of the four houses on York Avenue in St. Paul decorated with 10,000 lights, blow molds, and blow ups in Halloween spirit. While you watch, tune your radio to synced music on 91.5 FM. The shows start daily at dusk and run until Nov. 2. They'll be collecting donations for the Merrick Food Shelf each night.

After Halloween Pumpkin Recycling: Instead of throwing away the pumpkins used for Halloween decorations after the holiday, recycle them. Drop off old pumpkins free of charge from Nov. 1 to Nov. 7 at a container in Central Park across the street from Brooklyn Park’s Operations and Maintenance building. The pumpkins will be used for soil and landscape compost.

Anoka Haunted House: This event is held from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 20 and 24 and from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 16. It's located at the Anoka County Fairgrounds. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for kids 10-years-old and younger.

The Butcher Shop of Gore: This event will be held from 5-11 p.m. Oct. 18-20, 25-31, and Nov. 1-2 at 1444 E. Reaney Ave, St. Paul, MN 55106. Entry is $5 per person.

The Dead End Hayride: The hayride runs 7-11 p.m. Oct. 18-19, 25-26, 31 and Nov. 1-2. It runs 7-9 p.m. Oct. 13, 16-17, 20, 23-24, 27 and 30. It's located at Pinehaven Farm at 28186 Kettle River Blvd. North, Wyoming, MN 55092. Ticket prices may vary.

Deadview Cemetery: The Deadview Cemetery is open Oct. 17-19, 24-26, 31 and Nov. 1. It's located at 8839 96th St. South, Cottage Grove, MN, 55016 and costs $7 per person.

Fright Farm: This event is open from 7-11 p.m. Oct. 18-19, 25-26, and 30-31. Fright Farm is located at 2020 White Bear Ave N., Maplewood, MN 55109. Tickets cost $10 dollars.

World's Largest Indoor Trick or Treat: The World's Largest Indoor Trick or Treat will be form 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Southeast Court, Nordstrom Court, and Rotunda of Mall of America.

Día de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead: El Día de los Muertos event takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 26 through Nov. 2 at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. Prices for entry vary.

Scream Town: Scream Town is open Oct. 17-20, 25-27 and Nov. 1-2. The location is 7410 Hwy 212, Chaska, MN. Prices may vary.

Zywiec's Landscaping and Garden Center Corn Maze: The corn maze is open every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It costs $8 for attendees 12-years-old and older and $6 for kids under 12. It's free for kids under the age of two. The maze is at Zywiec's Landscaping and Garden Center at 10900 Point Douglas Rd., Cottage Grove, MN 55016.
