An update to one of our KSTP investigations, as Crystal Care Home Health Agency of Richfield has filed for bankruptcy.
It employs about 800 people and provides care at home for nearly 1,000 patients in Minnesota.
Since May, KSTP has been reporting Crystal Care has repeatedly bounced paychecks to many employees, and patients have complained about sporadic health care.

Crystal Care had received $23 million in state funding over the past three years, which are taxpayer dollars.
It’s not clear how the bankruptcy will affect back pay owed to employees, or if health care will be interrupted for patients.
