4-Year-Old Forest Lake Boy Found Walking to School Alone

A four-year-old boy is currently in the custody of Washington County after police say he tried walking to school while his mother slept.

Police say the boy awoke, got dressed, and waited for the school bus outside Wednesday morning. Police say the boy didn’t think the bus was coming so he started walking to school. The bus later picked him up about a half-block from his home.

Police say the boy’s mother was apparently on a new medication and overslept. They were called to Central Learning Center at 10:30 a.m. to investigate the situation.

No injuries were reported.
