Meeting to be Held After Maple Grove Hockey Players Suspensions
Maple Grove School leaders are planning on holding a meeting Tuesday after several of the players on the boys hockey team were suspended.
13 players were suspended following an incident the coach said happened "off the ice" in December. Coach Gary Stefano was also placed on administrative leave last week.
Osseo Area Public Schools spokesperson Barb Olson says school officials conducted an investigation and determined that the incident violates one of Minnesota State High School League rules. The coach was reinstated after one day.
Due to privacy rules, no details have been made available as to what exactly was being investigated.
Coach Stefano, the school principal and the person who oversees district athletics will speak to the media around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They plan to talk about what's next and outline a specific plan for the future and help kids make better choices.
