Deadline Nears for Coon Rapids Citizens Academy Applications

Residents interested in learning more about the inner workings of the Coon Rapids Police and Fire Departments can attend the Citizens Academy this spring.

The academy is an 8-week course hosted by Coon Rapids. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays beginning March 4, attendees can learn about the city’s cable television studio, snowplowing, the city budget, and duties of police officers and fire fighters.

The goal is to help citizens gain a better understanding of city departments and services, according to a statement from the city.
