Troopers Make 25 New Year's Drunk Driving Arrests

Minnesota State Patrol troopers arrested 25 people statewide for drunk driving on New Year's Eve and early New Year's Day.

The arrests were made between 6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Many people in the Twin cities took advantage of public transportation and free Metro Transit rides. Metro Transit is compiling the exact ridership numbers, but officials said it was busy.

Extra trips on light rail were popular and the agency added buses to serve crowded routes.
