Police: Grow Operations, Drugs Found in Fridley and Mpls. Homes
A couple has been charged after police raided two homes and found marijuana grow operations, cocaine and meth.
Police initially executed a search warrant at a Minneapolis home on Tuesday, Dec. 11, that is associated with 36-year-old Daniel Robert Dirks. They found 194 grams of cocaine and a 20-plant marijuana grow operation at that home, according to the criminal complaint.
The next day, police executed a search warrant at 4751 3rd St. N.E. in Fridley around 4:40 p.m. The home is associated with Daniel Dirks and his wife, 32-year-old Tina Dirks of Fridley. Police say Tina and Daniel live in that home with their five kids, ages 6-14.
Police say they found 11 marijuana plants, two bags containing .23 grams of meth, and 10 bags of marijuana weighing 251.44 grams in the Fridley home. They also found two handguns, one of which was stolen out of Crow Wing County, according to the criminal complaint.
Daniel Dirks is facing charges in Hennepin County with the cocaine and marijuana grow cases.
Tina Dirks has been charged in Anoka County with two fifth-degree controlled substance crimes. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines on each charge.
