Counterfeit Money Operation Uncovered in Rochester

Four people were arrested Saturday after Rochester Police uncovered a counterfeit money operation.

KSTP sister station KAAL reports, officers were expecting to make and arrest for a warrant when they noticed people inside of the apartment cutting up what appeared to be counterfeit bills.

According to Rochester Police, the officers set up surveillance and requested a search warrant for the apartment.

During that time two of the occupants of the apartment got in a car and drove off.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the two men inside after finding about $6,000 in counterfeit money.

Officers then executed the warrant at the apartment and found an additional $14,000 in counterfeit bills.

Lamar McCain 21 of Rochester, Misty Peterson 27 of Winona, Talheren Pollard Jr. 23 of Riverdale Illinois, and Dennis Richardson 27 of Winona were arrested.

Police believe the arrests may be connected to some of the counterfeit money found across the area.
