St. Paul Man Pleads Guilty to Trafficking Minors Via Internet

A 25-year-old St. Paul man has pleaded guilty in connection to a sex trafficking incident involving two under-age girls at an Eagan hotel.

Giorgio Baymon pleaded guilty Friday to Promotion of Prostitution of Minors, the Ramsey County Attorney's Office says. Baymon agreed to testify against a co-defendant and any other uncharged co-defendants as a part of his plea agreement.

According to the criminal complaint, in May, authorities began tracking two girls on suspicion of being prostituted. After locating the girls, they explained that they were forced to prostitute themselves at an Eagan hotel by Baymon and his co-defendant. Both victims were listed on the website, Backpage.com, along with explicit photos and their cell phone numbers. Surveillance video showed Baymon handing money to his co-defendant, who then paid for a room.

Baymon will be sentenced Nov. 29. He faces up to 14 years in prison.
