Eric joined 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS in 2012. In his first year with the station he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best News Anchor in the region, which includes the Minneapolis/St. Paul news market. Before joining KSTP, Eric worked at KUSA in Denver, Colorado where he was also nominated for an Emmy for Best Anchor. He anchored hours of continuous live coverage from the scene of two of the most destructive and deadly wildfires in Colorado’s history. He also anchored live from the scene of the Aurora Movie Theater Shooting. Eric won an Emmy for a 2-part series exposing unemployment fraud and problems within the Colorado Labor Department. He started his career in Rochester, MN before moving to work at Hubbard-owned KOB-TV as an Anchor/Reporter in Albuquerque, NM.
Eric is a Minnesota native. He graduated from Apple Valley High School, and holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California.
Eric and his wife live in Edina and have two sons. When Eric is not enjoying quality family time or volunteering in the community, he is playing hockey or attempting to play golf.
