Study: Aspirin Could Prevent Skin Cancer

You may have heard that Aspirin can prevent heart attacks or clot-related strokes. Now, we’re learning of a new benefit – just in time for summer.

As we all slather on sunscreen this summer, researchers say popping an Aspirin might be a new weapon in the fight against skin cancer. A new study shows that people who took a low dose of Aspirin or Ibuprofen every day for at least three years are less likely to develop two types of skin cancer, including a 15 percent less chance of developing malignant melanoma.

The anti-cancer benefit was even greater for those who took Aspirin for at least seven years at a higher dosage.
