Driver Who Died in Tanker Explosion Identified

The tanker that crashed into a bridge and exploded on I-94 Monday morning was owned by a Sauk Centre company.  The driver, 51 year old Todd G. Richardson of Colfax, Wisconsin, died in the crash.

Wisconsin's State Patrol says the truck had left the Twin Cities and was headed toward central Wisconsin.  It crossed the median into westbound traffic before hitting a bridge support and bursting into flames.

Kane Transport, Inc. of Sauk Centre owned the truck.  A check of US Department of Transportation records by KSTP.COM shows Kane has an above average safety record over the past 24 months.
