Dresses Destroyed After Edina Bridal Shop Closes

A bridal shop in Edina destroyed thousand of dollars worth of wedding dresses and other merchandise after it closed its doors over the weekend.

Workers from Priscilla of Boston sprayed the gowns with red paint and threw them into a dumpster. Some of the dresses had price tags over $4,000.

The destruction of the leftover merchandise upset some witnesses. Shelia Roth emailed the company CEO to tell him she was "appalled at the blatant waste." In the email, Roth says when she asked workers why the dresses weren't donated, she was told it  was a corporate order to destroy the remaining inventory and it had something to do with the contracts with the labels.

Priscilla of Boston president Patrick Walsh says the company has donated gowns to charities in the past, but not those that are damaged.
