Waste Haulers Offering Pink Waste Carts to Curb Cancer
Three Twin Cities waste haulers will be offering customers pink waste carts as a way to raise money for cancer research.
Dick's Sanitation, Troje's Trash & Recycling, and Walters Recycling & Refuse are teaming up with the American Cancer Society, based in Mendota Heights, and the Angel Foundation, based in Minneapolis, for the "Curb Cancer" program.
The three companies will now offer bright pink waste carts for customers. They are made of recyclable plastic and display the ACS "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" logo. The lid will also display early detection and health tips on a large in-mold label. Five dollars from each Pink Cart delivered will support the American Cancer Society's local breast cancer awareness programs.
A kickoff event to launch this campaign will be held today, September 15 at the American Cancer Society's headquarters in Mendota Heights.
All three companies will also offer an ongoing donation matching program, with funds going to the Angel Foundation for emergency financial assistance.
