MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The family of a 24-year-old Kasota man who was shot and killed during a confrontation with a sheriff's deputy is waiting for autopsy results before planning his funeral.

Tyler Heilman died Monday in Kasota after a scuffle with a Le Sueur County Sheriff's investigator.

The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident. BCA spokesman Andy Skoogman said Wednesday that autopsy results weren't yet available, but he says preliminary results are expected within the next few days.

Mark Heilman, Tyler's father, says plans for a funeral are on hold until authorities release his son's body.

Heilman also says the family has attorneys who are conducting their own investigation into what happened.
