Body of Second Swimmer Pulled from Pokegama Lake

1 Drowns, 1 Remains Missing in Itasca Co. Lake

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) - A body of a second swimmer who drowned in Pokegama Lake in Itasca County has been recovered.

Sheriff's Chief Deputy Terry Snyder said a fisherman reported the incident Sunday afternoon at about 5:30 p.m. Emergency personnel sent to the scene recovered the body of 63-year-old Albert John Hermiston of Grand Rapids about 6 p.m. The body of a second man - 30-year-old Nathan Randall Junker of Grand Rapids - was recovered Monday night.

Snyder estimated winds were at speeds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts of 40 to 45 mph at the time, causing large waves on the lake.

The drownings were ruled an accident, and Snyder said alcohol also was not a factor
