1 Drowns, 1 Remains Missing in Itasca Co. Lake

Itasca County authorities believe two men drowned in a lake near Grand Rapids. They've recovered one body, but weather is hindering the search for the other.

The two men were swimming in Lake Pokegama Sunday evening. Around 5:30 p.m. a fisherman noticed one of the men had disappeared and the other was floating in the water.

Someone called 911 and boaters brought the man seen floating on the water to the dock at a restaurant called Zorbaz.

Scott Schulte, who works at Zorbaz, said "Fifteen people ran into the water to help hold the the boat to the dock so they could get the guy on the stretcher and the ambulance."

The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Crews have not yet found the second man.

Authorities have not released either man's name.
