January 23, 2008 – Why Pretty Dresses Make You Feel So Good?

I was hoping you might be able to help me figure this one out.  I was hosting the show today and had a wonderful opportunity to wear a JoyNoelle dress.  If you haven’t heard of her, she’s a Minneapolis designer, google her and take a look at her work, it’s amazing.  Anyway, the dress I chose to wear was perhaps the prettiest dress I’ve ever worn (excluding my wedding gown) and made me feel tremendous.  It was a jewel and earth tone dress, with layers of chiffon.  It was a girlie dress through and through.  The part that I thought was so funny is that throughout the afternoon, I had every woman who passed me come up and touch the dress.  So what do you think it is that makes women feel so good in a pretty dress.  I think it’s partially the way it makes you look, but probably more so, the reaction from other women.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, most women love attention from the guys, but when a woman comments on your dress, it’s even better because they know what they’re talking about.  So if you have any insight on this phenomenon let me know.  I’d be interested in hearing it.  Again, go check out JoyNoelle, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
