December 1, 2008- Internet vs. In Store?

I love shopping, really, I do.  I love strolling up and down the aisles, I love looking through clearance items and I love getting a good deal.  This all changed oddly enough right around the time my first daughter was born.  Don’t get me wrong, I still love shopping trips, but only on the rare occasion I’m alone.  So in the past four years, I’ve been forced to turn to the internet to do most of my holiday shopping and have become quite fond of it.  I love browsing through different sites at once ( I sometimes play a game called “how many windows can be open at one time?”), I love getting free shipping and I love getting the boxes delivered right to my door. 

This Friday was the first Black Friday I’ve had off as an adult and I did some shopping at a few department stores and walked away with some great deals so that got me to thinking, which shopping option is best?  So now I’m looking at both options and wondering which one is best.   I’m kind of a nerd and actually drew up a pro/con list for both and they came out pretty close.  Since that didn’t answer my question, I’ve decided to do a little contest.  I am going to split up my gift list and do half at the store and half on line.  Like I said, I’m kind of a nerd.  Anyway, sometime in January, I’ll let you know which one came out on top.  No thanks necessary, I’d be doing it anyway.
