SONG: Want to know what I'm pondering about?

Yes, It has been awhile since I last blogged and shared my thoughts with you.  This lapse in time gives me unwanted pressure to write about an exciting or sexy topic.

Instead, I'd like to share how stories bring meaning to my life.  Recently, I followed the wheels of 14 year old Star Hall; a beautiful girl whose complexion is soft and her voice imaginably boisterious.  Our paths crossed nearly two summers ago, actually not long after I moved to the Twin Cities and started my job here at 5.  Star was shot in the head steps away from her house, on a Saturday night, after her brother's birthday party-- a celebration of life.  Moments later people gathered to mourn for Star on the precipice of death.  She was induced in a coma and doctors expected her to pass away.  Yet, her soul resurrected, her heart resuscitated and today she's breathing on her own.  She's confined to a wheelchair and has difficulty moving her limbs, but she's alive with the support of some wonderful parents, doctors and teachers.

I think of her often.  She gives me perspective.  I know I'm selfish when I complain about difficult circumstances in my own life.  They don't dare compare.  I can walk, talk, and eat.  I have no clue how blessed I am.
