MCLEAN: 1,280 Steps

If it was just a walk, 1,280 steps wouldn't be so bad, but this is a climb. There are 1,280 steps leading to the top of the IDS, that's 50 stories. I'm getting ready to climb them all. It's called Climb for a Cure. A few 5 Eyewitness News reporters are teaming up with the St. Paul Fire department for the climb. We're raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.

It's a good cause and it's fun to have a challenge to aim for, but this could be a tough one. Colleen Mahoney and I went over to the IDS for a test run the other day. We survived, but we didn't move very fast. This is supposed to be a race so we probably shouldn't take so many breaks along the way. Race day is coming up on February 7. By then hopefully we are ready to climb fast. Even if we don't win though, we still know we're helping out a good cause.
