KSTP's Tim Sherno to give commencement address at (your school's name here!)

I'm throwing my dusty old mortar and tassel in the ring. I'm putting it out there.  I want to give a commencement address at a high school graduation ceremony.  It's something I've wanted to do for years.  And this is going to be the year --even if I have to crash a ceremony, storm the stage and hold the mic hostage. I'm serious. Why?

I remember my high school graduation ceremony  -the speaker was good, but now with years of hind-site I believe he left a lot of stuff out. Valuable stuff. Stuff there's no way we could have known or figured out for ourselves. Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 things he could have told us but didn't!  Good stuff that I didn't know then, but learned later... but learning cost me time and money and aggravation.

From the NewYork to L.A., from London to Fiji, from working as a paper-boy, to working at ABCNews, to working at KSTP, from evacuating a flaming passanger jet to bungee jumping, from skydiving to scuba-diving, from a couple of career successes and lucky breaks to a couple of glorious explosive failures and hard knocks... I've learned a lot, and I want to share. If your school already has plans, tell someone else.

My calendar is clear... my speech is ready... I just need to know where to go.  (that's me in the middle!)

Contact me: tsherno@kstp.com or kbendell@kstp.com and we'll set it up.
