U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken headed to Washington D.C.
 

Franken's campaign told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Franken will meet with democratic leaders on Wednesday to talk about party business and potential litigation in the Minnesota race.

Orientation for new senators is this week in Washington D.C., but Franken will not attend that. His campaign said it would be too presumptive with the race between Franken and Republican Senator Norm Coleman still unsettled.

Coleman leads Franken by 206 votes.

A statewide recount will be conducted staring this week to determine the winner.
