MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A new public service announcement aims to help consumers understand the switch to digital television.
Best Buy, the Minnesota Broadcasters Association and Apex Digital are teaming up on a half-hour television program, "DTV Simplified." The program will be made available to broadcasters nationwide free of charge. It can be used during Digital Television Transition Awareness Month in August and through next March.
The program gives viewers an overview of the transition to digital TV and reviews how to install a converter box on an analog TV.
The nationwide switch to digital TV is June 12, 2009.
Minnesota 4-H will have a DTV transition exhibit at the Minnesota State Fair. Fairgoers will get a chance to learn more about the transition and get hands-on experience with converter boxes and antennas.
