Created: 08/10/2009 11:16 AM KSTP.com | KSTC.TV finds new home on Time Warner Ch.12 12/11/01Independent broadcast television station KSTC.TV is pleased to announce that it will move from cable channel 22 to channel 12 on the Time Warner Cable system at the end of this month. Time Warner Cable, Minnesota and KSTC.TV have reached an agreement that will allow Time Warner to carry KSTC.TV Channel 45 and sister station KSTP-TV Channel 5 on its Minnesota cable systems for four more years. Federal law requires that broadcast stations may elect "must carry" or negotiate terms for carriage on local cable systems periodically. Under terms of the agreement, Time Warner Cable will relocate KSTC.TV from cable channel 22 to channel 12, effective December 28th, 2001. The move brings KSTC.TV closer to flagship KSTP-TV on the cable dial. KSTC.TV station manager Susan Anderson said: “This is great news for fans of local broadcast television. It means that we’re easier to find on the cable dial for the local news, sports and leading syndicated programs that viewers look for on KSTC.TV.” Following are KSTC.TV’s local programming highlights: -Eyewitness News at 9:00 p.m. every night: a full hour of local news, weather and sports -“At Issue with Tom Hauser”: public affairs, politics and current events, Sundays at 8:00 a.m. On the local sports scene, KSTC.TV carries: -Fourteen University of Minnesota Golden Gopher men’s basketball games (2001-02 season) in cooperation with Victory Sports, including three Big Ten playoff games in March -Eleven Big Ten Basketball games (ESPN) -Seven-game University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey schedule (with Fox Sports Net North) -Five-game schedule of St. Cloud State University Husky Hockey, produced by SCSU KSTC.TV also brought Northern League baseball back to broadcast television when it partnered with the St. Paul Saints, carrying seven games of their 2001 season live including the Northern League All-Star game. KSTC.TV has built an impressive line-up of popular syndicated programming, as well: Friends followed by Cheers (Monday - Friday at 10:00 and 10:30 p.m., respectively); The Practice (Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.); and ER (Sundays at 10:00 p.m.). Television fans of the sitcom genre will be pleased to find I Love Lucy, All in the Family, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and other classics on the station’s programming grid. |
