Many years ago, a forward thinking guy named Bert Chase built a hotel in downtown Walker. With seventy rooms and indoor plumbing, it was the wonder of the age and became a local landmark.
The seventy-five-year-old wooden building was showing its age before a devastating fire in 1997 finally put it out of business. From the ashes has grown a brand new Chase On the Lake and inside this looming 30-million dollar re-creation lies a remnant of the old historic building.
