Police officers from Minnesota and Wisconsin were on the road Saturday, training for the next Police Unity Tour.

The tour is a bike ride to honor officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This year, it hits close to home with the loss of Minneapolis Park Police Officer Mark Bedard.

Next weekend they'll head east and ride 250 miles from Virginia to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. There, they will help add Bedard's name to the Wall of the Fallen.

Bedard died in November when he was hit by a squad car while chasing a suspect on foot.

This year, the team has raised $55,000 for the national memorial.
