Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S.

Now a University of Minnesota study is trying to find out why African American men are most at risk. Researchers say they have a 25-percent higher rate of having colon cancer than white men and a 50-percent higher mortality rate.

U of M researchers are surveying black men ages 18 to 64 at the Minnesota State Fair in hopes of bringing those numbers down.

Along with the survey, there is a giant inflatable colon to educate fairgoers on the disease. You can find the survey and the giant colon at the new U of M Driven to Discover Building.
