Motorcyclist Identified in Deadly Crash near Mall of America

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. at Cedar Avenue and Interstate 494 in Bloomington, which is near the Mall of America.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on the I-494 ramp to go southbound on Cedar Avenue when the motorcycle bounced over the divider curb and ended up in the right two lanes of Cedar Avenue.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 67-year-old Ronald Rostberg of Bloomington.

The motorcyclist was the only person involved, according to the State Patrol. Officials say Rostberg was not wearing a helmet and that alcohol was not detected.

No other information has been released.
