Even though the water has gone down, June floods are still causing delays on one road construction project.

Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will finally lay down cement on Wednesday for a project on Interstate 94 in Monticello.

Paving of the eastbound lanes was delayed 10 days because of the June floods.

High water on the Mississippi River shut down barge traffic last month, stopping shipments of cement from Iowa into the Twin Cities.

"It's frustrating for us, it's frustrating for the public, and it's frustrating for the contractor also. It's totally out of our control, it's an act of nature." said Kirk Allen with MnDOT.

Paving will take about 10 days to complete. MnDOT  hopes to finish the project in October.
