A number of wading pools in Minneapolis closed Sunday, but seven wading pools will remain open through September or until the weather cools.

Lifeguard services at beaches will be ending for the season on Sunday, as the majority of lifeguards return to college and high school classes.

However, beaches remain open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and swim docks and buoys outlining swim areas will be in place through Labor Day.

There will be an extended lifeguard schedule at Lake Nokomis Main Beach and Wirth Lake Beach through Labor Day.
