The Minnesota State Fair is almost here, and that usually means it’s time for the weather to heat up.

A warm front is expected to produce showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday night, and those could linger into early Thursday morning, KSTP meteorologist Dave Dahl said. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s as the dew points start to climb.

“After that front moves through, it's going to get downright hot and humid," Dave said. "Highs are supposed to climb into the upper 80s to low 90s Thursday through Saturday. That alone is bad enough, but when you add in humidity, it becomes very uncomfortable to say the least. Dew points could reach the upper 60s to low 70s starting on Thursday and lasting through the coming weekend."

Dave has chosen Sunday for his "bright spot." Temperatures will be in the low-80s.

A cool-down is expected early next week with temperatures hitting the mid-70s.
