A Mankoto man drowned over the weekend in Michigan.

The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office says 64-year-old Dennis Javens was on a sight-seeing dive in the Straits of Mackinac. He and his friends were diving to see the sunken vessel, Cedarville, near the Mackinac Bridge when Javens ran out of air.

Authorities say he was unable to return to the surface. A diver in a different group found Javens body and brought it back to the surface.
