A Northfield man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct after authorities say he became involved with a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl.

Nineteen-year-old Michael Stucky Jr. became friends with the 15-year-old on Facebook and eventually went to her home last August where he started kissing her and ignored her attempts to resist, according to the Dakota County Attorney’s Office. The victim says Stucky became more aggressive and raped her, according to the criminal complaint. Stucky claimed it was consensual.

The other incident involved a 13-year-old. Authorities say Stucky did not meet the 13-year-old online but did not release any further details surrounding that case.

A Dakota County judge sentenced Stucky to 361 days in jail, which he had already served, and 15 years of probation. Stucky will also have to pay a $50 fine and register as a predatory offender.

“Predatory behavior targeting children similar to what occurred in this case is a far bigger problem than most parents realize,” said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom. “Parents should discuss this issue with their children and encourage them to let their parents know of any solicitation attempts made against them, or other inappropriate activity they encounter, while using the internet.”

The Rosemount and Eagan Police Departments assisted in this investigation.
