A St. Cloud man was pulled from the Sauk River Sunday and pronounced dead, according to authorities.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone who said a man was pulled from the river at 12:45 p.m. at 3 Rivercrest Drive in St. Cloud.
The caller reported the man was unresponsive and blue in color. Authorities tried to revive the man when they arrived, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was with friends in an apartment complex and he left them to walk into the river. He had been seen swimming and diving in the shallow water, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
After not seeing him for a while, his friends went looking for him. He was found and pulled from the water, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim was identified as a 56-year-old man, but his name won’t be released until family is notified.
No foul play is suspected in the incident.
