Minnesota will receive $5 million in federal funding to help repair roads and bridges damaged by flooding this summer.
The Federal Highway Administration is giving the state the additional funding to make sure the costs of emergency repairs are covered. The $5 million is in addition to another $5 million in emergency repair funds the state received in June and July. In all, the state has $10 million to fund road and bridge fixes.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will divide the funds between local agencies to ensure repairs are made.
