Where to Donate School Supplies in Minnesota

School is starting at the end of August and there are families that cannot afford school supplies. If you are interested in donating, there are fundraisers throughout Minnesota working to help kids start the school year off on the right foot.

Coon Rapids

During a movie in the park night at the Sand Creek Park in Coon Rapids people can help “Fill the Bus” with school supplies for students in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. The event is Friday, Aug. 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Forest Lake

Forest Lake is hosting a resource fair, “Living on Less”, for families in need on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be at Maranatha Assembly of God Church at 24799 Forest Boulevard in Forest Lake. There will be bike safety classes, schools supplies available, and healthy snacks. There will also be information about job searching, car repair, child safety, crime prevention, and parent education.

Centennial School District

The Centennial school district is accepting donations to help kids get off to a good start. People are asked to donate a backpack with supplies in it. There are options available online with instructions on how to participate in the Adopt-a-Backpack Program.

Roseville Area Schools

Roseville Area Schools is hosting a food shelf for students; they are accepting backpacks, schools supplies, toothpaste, soap, instant noodles, rice, toiletries and more. If you are interested in donating contact the RAHS main office. (651-635-1600)

Mounds View Public Schools

The Good Neighbor Back to School Project takes place this August at the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. School supply donations can be dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Pike Lake Education Center. It is located at 2102 NW 14th St., New Brighton, room 22. They will accept donations until Wednesday, August 20.

Place of Hope Ministries

The Place of Hope Ministries is collecting donations through August at its offices at 511 Ninth Ave. N, St. Cloud. Items will be distributed on Aug. 28, the weekend before school starts.

Twin Cities-Mission: Backpack

Mission Backpack is working to help kids start the year right. Simply fill a backpack with supplies listed on their website and drop off the backpack at one of the drop off sites by Monday, Aug. 10.

Merrick Community Services – St. Paul East Side

Merrick Community Services is collecting backpacks and school supplies through Tuesday, Aug. 19.  Items will be distributed on Saturday, Aug. 23 at a Back to School Celebration event. Anyone interested in donating items can contact Merrick at 651-771-9339.
