A new service is available in the Twin Cities for those who are looking for urgent care, but don't want to wait.

ZocDoc is a free service where patients can find a local doctor's real-time availability, and instantly book an appointment online.

Users enter their location, insurance and the type of doctor they need to see. The service then shows doctor availability-within 24 hours- and their credentials.

KSTP's health expert doctor Archelle Georgiou says it's great for people who have a straight forward problem, like a sore throat or urinary tract infection.

However, she said ZocDoc is not necessarily a good option for something that requires a specialist that she says shouldn't be rushed care.

Dr. Georgiou also says to still do your homework on the doctor by checking their credentials and patient reviews.
