The Minnesota Wild have re-signed forward Justin Fontaine to a two-year contract, according to a release from the club.

The complete terms of the contract have not yet been released.

Fontaine completed his rookie season with the Wild, earning 21 points and a plus-6 rating in 66 games.

With 13 goals, Fontaine tied for fourth among the Wild for goals during the 2013-2014 season and tied for twelfth among rookies in the league.

Fontaine collected his first NHL goal 12 seconds into a game against Dallas, which is the fastest goal in Wild franchise history. He also earned the Wild's first hat trick by a rookie when he scored three goals against Phoenix.

Before entering the NHL, Fontaine played for two seasons with the Houston Aeros in the American League. He also played collegiate hockey with the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2007 to 2011 where he helped lead the Bulldogs to an NCAA Championship in 2011.
